School Reopening Phase-In Procedures

On September 21, 2020, Taft ISD will begin Phase 2 of our Safe School Opening Plan at which time we welcome our first group of students for Face-to-Face Instruction (F2F) since closing in March. We recognize that this continues to be an unusual school year, but we remain committed to supporting your student’s learning, as well as his or her safety. This document outlines the procedures our campuses will have in place to prevent or mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and to respond if a positive case is identified. We hope this transparency helps you to make a decision about your student’s on-campus attendance at Taft ISD.

Campus teams have selected students based on criteria determined at the campus level, with consideration given to grade level needs and specific student needs to be successful.  The phase in plan allows students to transition and adapt with supports in place and it allows campuses to identify procedures that may need to be addressed to improve our processes as we prepare for the complete return of our students on October 12, 2020.  Next week we will be welcoming approximately 20-25% of our student population at Taft Junior High and Taft High School.
