Taft ISD School Cancellation for February 16, 2021

Taft ISD will cancel classes on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, due to hazardous road conditions caused by wet, wintry weather and continued power outages that may affect Remote Learning Plans.

As always, the safety of our staff, students, families, and community is a top priority for Taft ISD.

The American Rescue plan (ARP) Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER III) is providing funds to be used at the District Level.

Taft ISD is seeking input from stakeholders across the district as we develop our district level plan. Your feedback and input is valuable and will help in forming our final plan.

Responses to this survey are due by 5:00 p.m. on May 28, 2021.
The survey will take approximately 7 minutes to complete.

Returning of devices start today

Returning of devices start today

If you have a school issued device and are a Senior, Eighth grader, third grader, or a first grader please remember your devices are due today.
For students to be cleared, all devices must be returned in useable condition:
• Laptop will need to be returned with the correct power cord.
• Hot spots will need to be returned in the box received with the power cord and USB wall adapter.
Should you have any questions for returning devices, please contact Adriana Lunoff, District Librarian and Media Specialist at 361-528-2636, ext. 3441 during our office hours of Monday - Friday from 7:45 a.m. – 4:30.

Attention Taft ISD Parents

If you would like to change the learning method of your child then we will need the 3rd Six Weeks Remote Online vs. On Campus Face-to-Face Survey to be submitted for EVERY student in the district that is changing their option. The option you choose for your child will remain the method of instruction for the 3rd Six Weeks, once On Campus Face-to-Face instruction begins. You will have the option to choose Remote Online or On Campus Face-to-Face for each Six Weeks. Please review the click on Read full story for more information.

Staff and Student Weather Plans for February 15th-16th

In anticipation of hazardous road conditions caused by wet, wintry weather forecasted for our area, Interim Superintendent, Angelita Lopez, is directing all employees to work remotely on Monday, February 15, 2021, during our scheduled Staff Development Day. Employees will work with their supervisors regarding their remote workday. Monday is not an instructional day for students.
Due to anticipated inclement weather conditions into Tuesday morning, February 16, 2021, teachers and students should plan to participate via Remote Learning. Teachers should communicate with parents and students regarding instruction and students should check their online learning platform for lesson activities. Administrators, Directors/Supervisors, and Hourly Staff will report to work at 9:30 a.m. on February 16, 2021. Employees will work with their supervisors regarding their work expectations and schedule.
